Wake Park World Championships 2010

Been home since last sunday, just forgot to inform you guys more about the event at hip-notics cable in Antalya for the Wake Park World championships 2010!

So, after my qualifications there was a little party in the evening and us ladies didnt have to ride the next day. Whats happened to me after qualifications, while walking of a step at the bungalows i missed the step and went trough my ankle. I hurted like hell fell pretty hard but thought it would be okay, well guess not cause when i woke up the next day it was so swollen and fat and couldnt walk on it. That thursday i was happy that i didnt have to ride my semis yet. But i did have to ride my wakeskate final, decided to spare my body and let it rest for semi's on friday. And so i did and became 6th place in wakeskate and still won 3 days of free accommodation at hipnotics haha very funny!!

After chillin and a lot of rest i put ice on my ankle like 5 times that day just to make sure it would be a bit better in the morning before semi's. We had a poker tournament in the evening on thursday. There were about 25 people. 10 euro buy in. 1st place get 60% which was 140 euro, 2nd place 30% and 3rd place 10 %. After a lot of playing before i knew i was at the final table. Was chip leader but at the end took the 3rd place and Dean 2nd and Robbie 1st. Very stoked made it that far in the tournament! Was definately a good game of poker!

With a good night sleep. I woke up the next day and could walk properly which was a good sign. My ankle wasnt that swollen anymore. I let the medical team put some bandage on it and iced it a bit more. Then it was time for my Semi finals. 1st heat nicola, cosima and sophia. it was all very close, but sophia fell in her run and both nicola and cosima didnt so cosima took 1st place and went trough to the next round with nicola! In my heat it was me, mona and denise. Unlucky denise fell in her run and i fell in my run as well cause i couldnt take the landing on my blind judge. At the end denise 's run wasnt good enough to make it to the next round.

It was a different and very interessting final this year. Mona Stenzel, Nicola Butler, Cosima Giemza and Myself. Normally you would see Sophia with her strong airtricks in the finals as well, same as for Denise who has great compesition also should be in the final. It was too bad for them and very dissapointing i guess.

Anyway, after semi's we had the turkish night on friday, lots of turkish music and dancers, even belly dancers and Daniel Fetz took great part in it as well haha. That was a good night and we all just had some fun.

Saturday was the day of the finals. Pro Mens final was very very intense we saw the head to head systems. It was dominik vs freddy, nick vs keith, marc vs james and tom vs aye.

Dominik placed for the top 4 final same as keith, james and tom fooshee.
That was a sick final so then it was dominik vs keith and james vs tom.
Then out of those riders it was dominik vs tom super final! Unlucky dominik fell in his run but showed us a hugeee ts bs 1080as his wildcard trick and gave him loads of respects. After his run tho Tom knew he shouldnt take any risks. so became 1st afterall, dominik 2nd and James 3rd.

As for my final! I was the last of the dock. It was nice for me because i can watch the other girls and then decide what i was gonna do. All three girls had some sick tricks blind judges, roll 2 blinds and even moby dick of the kicker. It was insane. I still had a injury not only my ankle now, but also my shoulder was still sore. At the end after my run i thought it would be enough to take out the titel. And it was! I was so stoked and happy because this was the event i've been waiting for all year! i already lost my IWWF titels and so im still very happy to be a world champ but of the wwa! OH yeah. This was a great ending for me for this season. To celebrate our titels we had the white sensation party at the cable!!

This was the last event for me this year. I will have to take a rest for at least 3 months now. So i will go to the gym twice a week and try to keep in shape while my body can get stronger again!

Keep you guys updated with any other activities i will do this year!
Thanks for following me, really appreciate it!

Wake Park World Championships 2010 @ Hip-Notics, Antalya

So i got on a plane last sunday together with my dutch buddy Jan Kerkhoven we got on our flight from Dusseldorf to Ankara. After a 3 hour flight we had to transfer in Ankara to go to Antalya.

As soon as we arrived we met Mona and Samuel from Germany who arrived at the same time as us. As we got our pick up to the cable which was an hour we met all the other riders who were there. Me and Jan share a bungalow at the lake with Nicola Butler, good friend of mine from the states, and also a sick rider. She rides mostly boat but she's rocking it at the cable as well!

After a goodnight sleep we woke up as early as we can .. uhum.. not. so yeah had some breakfast, and hit the water. The cable looks sick as always, the obstacles are awesome. It has two kickers, funbox and box on the ouside, flat bar inside and kink rail and ofcourse not to forget the huge B frame! With this set up you can choose which obstacles to hit but still make a sick run.

As we rode all day had some lunch and registered for the comp we were pretty tired at the end of the day. After dinner we played a nice game of poker and had couple of drinks. Had our riders meeting and a good night sleep afterwards.

Then again as we woke up on tuesday a bit of free riding followed by the official opening straight in to the first qualifications of the event; mini boys, girls, boys, amateurs women, amateur obstacles only and the wakeskaters. I also signed up for the womens wakeskate division not that i'm really good but i guess they needed some girls to ride it for the category and i actually like to ride a wakeskate its pretty fun. We had two heats of 3. I became second in my heat by doing some ollie's and 180's and hitting the box and the funbox, also landed the shuv it. Very stoked after that run. :)

After all those qualifications it was already time to have dinner again and play a game of poker! I still didnt win in these two days, hopefully i will though hahaha..

Today was the day of qualifications of the Junior Men, Masters, Pro wakeskate, Pro Women and Pro Obstacles only. Very high level of riding in all those divisions. In Junior Mens, we had our dutch buddy's Michael and Davey both making it in to the semi finals! In Masters category Jan took 4th place, but still going to semi's as well.

As for the womens category, we had 3 heats of 3 riders so 9 in total. First heat was the hardest heat i guess with Nicola (ENG), Denise (NED) and Ange (AUS) which made them go all out. Nicola landed a clean run just B frame a bit sketchy but still made it up with her sick moby dick of the kicker and some nice rail hits. Denise had a bit of a sketchy run as well on her airtricks but still made it well with her blind judge and finishing her run without crashing! Unlucky Angelika fell twice on a blind judge. Top 2 advance to semi's on friday. It was nicola 1st, Denise 2nd, Ange unlucky not making it into the semi's.

2nd heat was Mona (GER), Sophia (GER) and a girl from slovakia. It was obviouse that Sophia and Mona were gonna make it trough to the semi's and they did after their runs. Mona being super stylish on the obstacles and put her on 2nd place and sophia with her airtricks put her on 1st place.

As for my heat, i was together in a heat with Cosima (GER) and Caroline (SWE). First rider was the swedish girl Caro, she did a tanny to blind of the inside kicker and a hs fs 540 of the outside kicker plus had some good rail tricks but missed it out on her airtricks and fell on a roll to revert. Unlucky Cosima started of her run really good by doing some high airtricks, but unlucky fell on her roll 2 blind. I was the last rider of the dock in the pro women category and started of the dock with a whirly then hit the lower part of the funbox with a tailpress to bs 180, backroll, S bend, sw roll 2 revert, then a huge gab on the B fram that suprised me definetaly stoked with that one followed by a blind judge, crowmobe of the outside kicker and ended with a bit sketchy transfer on the funbox. I fisnished on 1st place with that run and Cosima on 2nd place.

For friday riding order semi's pro womens will be 2 heats of 3. It will be me, Denise and Mona in one heat. Nicola, Cosima and Sophia in the other heat. See how that works out.

Now, we have a bit of freeriding and a good dinner afterwards. Also we have some night riding tonight! Maybe some poker again. Tomorrow i dont have to ride so perhaps a little party tonight?

Pro Mens qualifications will start tomorrow, very intense the best riders in the World are

competing here at beautiful hip-notics for the titel of the Wake Park champion of 2010!!

Tomorrow we also will have the most important competition of the week hahaha which is the official poker tournament!!! That will be loads of fun!

Keep you guys posted.

Cheers,

Max

Europeans & World Trophy 2010 Izmit!

I've been home since tuesday night. But i definately had a sick week in Izmit at the IWWF European Championships and World Trophy 2010!!

Finals were intense such as Euro's and World Trophy. I had to start 4th in finals at Europeans and after my first run i was standing on first place. I had to start last as soon as Kirsteen Mitchell started of for her second run, i landed in to 2nd place. So with my second run it was all or nothing. Show the people what i got. Unlucky i fell on a S to blind and had to be happy with a second place! Denise took 3rd place. As for our team of The netherlands, we took 3rd place with our country. Which was pretty cool! And we were very happy with our results.

So, the World Trophy was even more intense than the Europeans. As it was all about the Cash money everyone went all out in their runs, showed the sickest tricks!! In Pro mens finals it was really really close. As for Mike who took the European titel. Had to be happy with a second run. Sick Nick davies who didn't come on the podium at europeans took the first place at the world trophy that gave him $10.000 plus ofcourse the overall with another 5 grand. He even landed a raley fs 720 after the comp. Shows that he is an amazing rider!

As for us ladies, the level of riding is getting more difficult every year. Sophia Mari Reimers descided to ride with Open Ladies instead of the Juniors. I mean ofcourse, cause in Open Ladies first place was $ 5.000 which is a lot prize money for womens. Anyway, we were 11 riders in total. with 6 in the finals on sunday. After my first run i did not end very high, because i lost the handle on the inside box, which was soo stupid. And everyone else did a clean and safe run. Except for Sophia who crashed in her first run and started first of the dock in the second run which put her immediately in first with her front 2 blind, sw mobe and a blind judge. And after all those 2nd runs i was in 6th position as i started of the dock with my run, did a blind judge, roll 2 blind, s to blind, sw roll2r, sw krypt and sick obstacles plus a whirly. I thought it was enough for first place, i was soo stoked after my run. It was definately one of my best runs.

After that run we waited for our score to come trough. It was still not enough to beat Sophia.

Even though i really thought it was.. i was really dissapointed. It was good afterall i won the overall ranking and i took some cash home! Happy afterall, and definatley will be competing next year!

Tomorrow i will leave to Antalya for the Wake Park Worldchampionships 2010. This will be the sickest event, that we have all been waiting for!! Will keep you guys posted.

Europeans Championships & World Trophy 2010 Izmit, Turkey!!!

After last weekends great Nationals i left from my hometown to Schiphol Airport last tuesday. When i arrived the whole dutch team was there and we were ready to get on our flight to Istanbul and from there by bus to Izmit to compete at the European Championships 2010 and ofcourse the World Trophy! This year we have a really good team and a new teammember Sam de Haan got second at our nationals in the boys division. So we have Sanne in the girls division. Sam in the boys division. Joelle in the Junior ladies division.Nick, Michael, Yves and Rocco in the Junior Men division. Our coach Rens Cosijn participating in Masters category. Me and Denise in the Open Ladies category. And ofcourse Dirk, Martijn And Mike Ketellapper in the Pro Men division. All of us together there might be even a change to win the golden medail for our country!! Would be pretty sick.

So after a little bit of delay on our flight we arrived in the evening on tuesday in Istanbul.
We got our bags and got on a bus towards Izmit. Once we were there checked in at the hotel got changed and had our first Turkish dinner in the Hotel.

Next morning on wednesday we got up pretty early to have breakfast and went to the cable to have our team training. All of us rode really good, tried some good runs and we obviously had some flat water which was perfect. Rest of the day the water was kind of choppy because it was free practise for everyone. All with all we had a wonderful day of riding and getting to know Izmit a little bit better.

Yesterday as we woke up it was gonna be the day of the official training, the official opening ceremonie and of course our first qualifications! As we had our good training and and opening representing HOLLAND!!! it was time for our first qualifications. Me and Denise both rode pretty good, Denise a bit better then me. I was on 1st place after my first run, but for long because when Denise and Kirsteen did their run i was placed on 3rd place. My second run i fell with my sw mobe. Unlucky, i know i can do it and it worked all day. Anyway, Denise was still on first after her 2nd run but we were all trough to the finals of tomorrow anyway, all 7 open ladies of us.

Today was the day of some finals; Girls, Boys and Masters. So we already have one gold medail cause Rens won the Masters division and a thirth place from Sanne in the Girls division. and unlucky Sam became 4th. Also we had qualifications wakeskate divisions and ofcourse the junior men and the pro men! Rocco was placed 1st in his heat. Nick unlucky became 3rd and has to ride his LCQ tomorrow same as for Yves and Michael. As for Mike he was qualified 2nd in his heat. All of the heats in the Pro Men catergory were super difficult. Its normal to have a 315 in your run and mobe 5's. The level of riding is incredible.. The other pro men of our team didnt make it trough to the finals so Dirk and Martijn have to ride the Lcq's tomorrow!

I'm very excited for tomorrow. This has been a great event so far. Perfect weather, good obstacles. Sick riding. The cable is 12 meters high! So you can emagine how high all the riders can fly ;)

Hopefully the weather will be amazing tomorrow! Before i forget to write it down here in my blog, please check http://www.cablewakeboard.net/ for all the information about the event this weekend including results, timetable etc.

They will also start with the livestreaming from tomorrow at noon so 12 oclock live streaming!
Hope you will all follow us online! Finals of Europeans tomorrow! Stay tuned, they will also start of with some qualifications of the World Trophy in the afternoon tomorrow!

Keep you guys posted.
Cheers

Dutch Nationals 2010

Last weekend we had our Nationals of 2010!!! Located at Down Under Cableway.

It was a great succes, there were about 92 riders registered. Some good brands that were sponsoring the event including Jobe sports one of my sponsors that gave away great prizes for the riders who made it to the podium.
We had all divisions from mini girls, till Masters. Good to see that even the smallest kids shred it on the water and it doesnt matter how old you get you still can rock the water hard, thats what we saw in the masters division.

Delay of blog

Hi all,

Yeah so i haven't had a laptop for a while because mine broke. Since a day i have a new laptop and so i can keep u all posted with my blogs.

There were some cool things going on in the last 3 weeks. Ofcourse i have to talk about the 2nd stop of the WWA the Protest Cable Call which was held in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands on the 14th and 15th of August.
It was a great event, very well organised!
Lots of good riders from all over the world came to join us here in Holland! The level of riding was insane! There was a lot of prize money for this event so only the best of the best took the money home! So it was the unbelievable Tom Fooshee who took 1st place in Pro Mens division and won $7000, with a pete rose 540 off the kicker he showed he was best in his final! Followed by Nick Davies on 2nd place and Felix Georgii on 3rd.

Then out of 16 Pro womens competing there were only 4 in the final. After my 100 point in quali's and semi's that saturday before i kinda messed it up by doing a pretty safe run in finals and got my ass kicked by Sophia Reimers who definately deserved to be on 1st spot with her blind judge and a switch mobe! So after finals it was Sophia first, me on 2nd and Denise on 3rd.

After the Cable Call i had a two days photo and video shoot with all the Jobe Teamriders. CK, Chloe, Declan, Michael, Sjors, Richy and Will. The weather was shitty but i'm sure we took some good shots for the new catalogue of 2011. The next years collection will be sick and very colourfull. some great products. Not to forget about the new design of the J star Max board and the Max vest!! Some of you might have seen it at the Cable Call.

Next event was the T mobile Playgrounds which was not for womens so i can't really tell you guys anything about that event. But what i can tell you is that there was a small competition at the same weekend here in holland at burnside cable park in Emst!
Its called de Bok; which is basically a competition just for fun. Its really just a day to be crazy and ride because we all have the same love for wakeboarding. The theme of the day was heaven and hell so we all had to dress up. I dont really like to dress up but there were plenty of people who did like that.
Anyway, so i came along that day together with my buddy Tom van de Kerkhof and we came a little late. Actually the competition already started but we asked 'can we still compete?' Yeah sure why not. So there we went. Uhu both in finals and i had the biggest score after two runs and had to start at last in finals. I landed a huge S to blind followed by a switch mobius and a clean whirly 540 of the kicker!!! That was basically the best run so far i had in a comp. Even tho this was not an official competion i was still stoked to land this. After finals i hurt my shoulder again. I have this small injury its irritating me since cable call but i manage to ride with it, and lucky i have a fysiotherapist now so its gonna be fine. At the end of the day i finished first in womens category! And Dirk Gideonse another buddy of mine won the Mens division! A great day and loads of fun people to hang out with! Definately going next year, again!

The next competition will be this weekend. Which will be the Official Dutch National Championships! Its gonna be the biggest organised nationals we ever had in Cable Wakeboarding. It will be held in Nieuwegein at Down Under, same cable park were the Cable call was. There are already 96 riders registered so i guess its gonna be a great succes this weekend.
Hopefully we will see some new tricks of our dutch riders. Will let you know more about it after this weekend!

Some more competitions coming up in the next few weeks: dutch nationals, official European championships in Izmit, Turkey. World Trophy also held in Izmit. Ofcourse the Wake Park Worldchampionships in Antalya, Turkey at beautiful Hip-notics. And last WWA Stop at CWC, Philippines. So keep you guys posted! :)

Update soon!
Thanks

Max

Protest photoshoot @ TNG Cable Park, France!

Saturday the 31st i got on the plane to Toulouse, France. Untill the 8th of August we had a full week of, practise, photoshooting and videoshooting! Ofcourse we had our cable team riders; Sjors van de Kerkhof, our newest teammember Chloe Goudie and myself! For the boat shoot we had the one and only Michael Timmers, Elke Venken and Ricky lukassen.
We rode everyday and learned some new tricks; Chloe landed her first scarecrows of the kicker, Elke landed her first whirly's and i landed a whirly 5 of the kicker.

Not only did we ride all day but also did some lifestyle shoots and some short interviews.
For the fun stuff, we had barbeques everyday with the whole team and even some dutchies came over to the cable and chilled with us. It was a fun week and another exprience in life. Special thanks so Barbera our teammanager for taking good care of us during this whole week. :)

Next trip will not go that far. This weekend will be the Protest Cable Call at Down Under Nieuwegein. Dont be afraid to pop by, its gonna be the sickest wakeboarding event holland has ever seen. More update soon! Thanks

World Championships 2010 Neubrandenburg, Germany

The official Worldchampionships 2010 were held in Neubrandenburg, Germany from the 14th till the 18th of July. There were over 15 nations from all over the world and over 150 riders competing. After the official opening ceremony it was time to start the competition. It was clear that all the riders have learned so many more tricks since the last worldchampionships in 2008 in Anapa, Russia.

After a good practise it was clear that i had my two pretty difficult runs safe. As qualifications started with 12 Open Ladies seperated in two heats, it was time for us to shine. I had to start last and began my run as i fell on my roll to blind. Only three in each heat were gonna advance straight trough the finals. After my crash in the first run i did a safe run the second time. I got placed 2nd place behind Kirsteen Mitchell (UK). And put me straight trough the finals on sunday the 18th.

Finals on sunday were very very intense. Not only did i have to defend my titel, there was so much pressure on me because all the Women in our division have improved themselves so much since 2 years that it was all or nothing. And so i did. I thought why do a safe run and get 2nd or 3rd place. Thats not what i wanted. It was clear that everybody was going for it and wanted to get that spot on the podium. I tried both runs i practised but couldnt show everything i have. I fell twice first with a roll to blind and second run when i thought i was going the right way with my s to blind i fell on a blind judge. Very unlucky and dissapointed i ended on 7th place. It was Kirsteen Mitchell (UK)who took the titel followed by Lauren Ormsby (AUS) on 2nd place and Angelika Schriber (AUS) on 3rd.

For more information about results and other stuff check out www.cablewakeboard.net

Keep following my blog and ill keep you guys posted about next events.

Max wins WPWS #1 @ Texas Ski Ranch

After a long travel and arrived at the Texas Ski Ranch this last wednesday for the first Stop of the Wake Park World Series 2010. At first I had some problems with the bag but eventually I recieved my boardbag again and was getting ready for the competition.

Practise started on friday. Qualifications started on saturday, unlucky we only had 5 riders competing in the Pro Womens division but I'm telling you 5 of the best. It was Me, Nicola Butler ENG, Angelika Schriber AUS, Alizee Brion FRA and Tor Young UK. We all got trough to Semi's. Then we had our semi's on sunday. Which placed Angelika 1st, Tor 2nd me 3rd and Nicola 4th. Things changed a lot cause i was 1st in quali's so this gave me some pressure for the finals. It was us four in finals. After finals and doing my run with some solid airtricks such as blind judge, roll to blind, s to blind and my wildcard trick; sw backmobe. I took first place. Nicola took second with a nice stalefish glide blind judge and her wildcard trick; a vulcan. Angie took 3rd with a huge ts backroll and a ts fs 540, also a solid blindjudge.

It was a great competition with a lot of good riders from all over the world. I'm happy i descided to go to the TSR. And i hope to be there some day soon again. This was a great event to start the season with. Get ready for the next stop cause that one will be at Down Under Cable Park in Holland. The Protest Cable Call!!

Before i have never really met a lot of russian people in my life, i have to say, they are really a lot of fun to hang out with ;)

Anyway, coaching was great. Ofcourse i had Cianne by my side who helped a lot of people too!Everyone was really stoked to learn new tricks. No Fears, just go! And so on and on a lot of people fell but eventually some of them learned some new kicker tricks and even some airtricks! These 12 days i've been there was def good fun to start the season with. I wanna thank all you guys who were there those days for the clinic!! I had a blast. Soon we might even catch up again.

8 days went by fast here at beautiful Hip-Notics!!

So yeh already been here for 8 days! Its going pretty fast but at the same time it doesn't.. You ever had that feeling? That you have a great time and you dont want it to end. I saw people come and go already. And I'm here for a month which is amazing cause i get to ride everyday. I've been waiting for this month since last november. :) Now its on, riding is good already learned a ts roll to fakie of the kicker on the inside! And a normal roll to revert. Which was my first airtrick ever, but just didnt do it since 4 years.. hmm yeah so thats great!! :D
Now, i wanna get all my tricks consistant. Been doing roll2blinds, s2blinds, blind judges and my mobe's again! Getting back in shape and even started my work out for a couple days. And finally losing my winter fat. .

There are still only germans here. Its alright we all know them, Frederic von Osten, Rene Konrad, Nick Lewis and even some crazy good wakeskaters.
Its good to see them riding to cause it inspires me, like freddy who landed a switch whirlydick of the kicker on the inside. ITS INSANE!!! But it motivates me to learn even more tricks! And I will keep practising so that i'm ready for the season! For now, i'm sure it'll work out!

Coming up more soon!

Peace,
Max

One month @ Hip-Notics Antalya, Turkey!

So me and my buddy Sjors just arrived 3 days ago in beautiful Antalya at Cable Park Hip-Notics!
Since we're here its been sunny and about 21 degrees celcius. Cable is tight and there are even some friends from Germany to hang out with. Had some very intense sessions on the water these last days. My body is getting used to being on the water again. Very sore muscles but hopefully will be better in the next days...

Gonna be here for a month so will practise a couple tricks and prepare well for the season! Hopefully will land my switch backmobe again and ofcourse my double s bend. Any new tricks i'd like to learn are: Front2blind, Raley360, Bell air. Kicker: Ts roll2blind, switch fs720, bs 540, whirly5.
Yup thats about it for now. Will keep updating so stay tuned!

New contract RIXEN

Finally got the contract with Rixen Cableways. Very excited about this deal! Its a great way to start off the season with some new sponsors. Also got SEAT lately so very happy about all this.

Looking forward to work with Rixen and to be a part of the Rixen team!!

First Competition of 2010!! Wake the Pool 2010!

Kinda late update but Feb 19/20 was the first Wakeboard event of 2010!!
It was held in Leipzig, Germany. A pool with a sesitec system by Rixen, Obstixx put in a Funbox and a kicker!! The setup was great! The crowd was awesome, over 80 riders registerd and definetely a great way to start the Season!

I was there with my dutch buddy's Jan, Sjors and Daan. We drove there by car. Only 5 hours from Enschede which was not too long. When we arrived we met everyone again! Always great to see all the riders again after a couple months! We all had a good training. As the competition started we had to do our best to get in the finals! Unlucky Sjors, Jan and Daan fell down in the qualifications, and had to do LCQ. At the womens it was me and Denise that took first place in both heats in the qualifications.
The boys didnt make it into the finals. They did have a sick funbox hit but unlucky fell on the kicker.
As in for me i fell twice in the Finals by doing a whirly bird! It was unlucky.. i landed it several times before and after the finals. After a good final it was Sophie Cordery who took first in the womens division!

It was a great event well good organised but i def cant wait for the next comp.
Update soon!

Welcome to the Official blog of Maxine Sapulette

Instead of reparing my own website: www.maxinesapulette.com i figured that this website is way easier to update blogs, photo's and videos.

I've started a new season this year. The first competition of 2010 will be this saturday in Leipzig, Germany. The event is called 'Wake The Pool'. Its an indoor rail and kicker competition with over 80 competitors. Lots of expectations and lots of visitors.

Keep following my blog and i'll make sure i keep posting new stuff.

Read more after this weekend.
