After last weekends great Nationals i left from my hometown to Schiphol Airport last tuesday. When i arrived the whole dutch team was there and we were ready to get on our flight to Istanbul and from there by bus to Izmit to compete at the European Championships 2010 and ofcourse the World Trophy! This year we have a really good team and a new teammember Sam de Haan got second at our nationals in the boys division. So we have Sanne in the girls division. Sam in the boys division. Joelle in the Junior ladies division.Nick, Michael, Yves and Rocco in the Junior Men division. Our coach Rens Cosijn participating in Masters category. Me and Denise in the Open Ladies category. And ofcourse Dirk, Martijn And Mike Ketellapper in the Pro Men division. All of us together there might be even a change to win the golden medail for our country!! Would be pretty sick.
So after a little bit of delay on our flight we arrived in the evening on tuesday in Istanbul.
We got our bags and got on a bus towards Izmit. Once we were there checked in at the hotel got changed and had our first Turkish dinner in the Hotel.
Next morning on wednesday we got up pretty early to have breakfast and went to the cable to have our team training. All of us rode really good, tried some good runs and we obviously had some flat water which was perfect. Rest of the day the water was kind of choppy because it was free practise for everyone. All with all we had a wonderful day of riding and getting to know Izmit a little bit better.
Yesterday as we woke up it was gonna be the day of the official training, the official opening ceremonie and of course our first qualifications! As we had our good training and and opening representing HOLLAND!!! it was time for our first qualifications. Me and Denise both rode pretty good, Denise a bit better then me. I was on 1st place after my first run, but for long because when Denise and Kirsteen did their run i was placed on 3rd place. My second run i fell with my sw mobe. Unlucky, i know i can do it and it worked all day. Anyway, Denise was still on first after her 2nd run but we were all trough to the finals of tomorrow anyway, all 7 open ladies of us.
Today was the day of some finals; Girls, Boys and Masters. So we already have one gold medail cause Rens won the Masters division and a thirth place from Sanne in the Girls division. and unlucky Sam became 4th. Also we had qualifications wakeskate divisions and ofcourse the junior men and the pro men! Rocco was placed 1st in his heat. Nick unlucky became 3rd and has to ride his LCQ tomorrow same as for Yves and Michael. As for Mike he was qualified 2nd in his heat. All of the heats in the Pro Men catergory were super difficult. Its normal to have a 315 in your run and mobe 5's. The level of riding is incredible.. The other pro men of our team didnt make it trough to the finals so Dirk and Martijn have to ride the Lcq's tomorrow!
I'm very excited for tomorrow. This has been a great event so far. Perfect weather, good obstacles. Sick riding. The cable is 12 meters high! So you can emagine how high all the riders can fly ;)
Hopefully the weather will be amazing tomorrow! Before i forget to write it down here in my blog, please check http://www.cablewakeboard.net/ for all the information about the event this weekend including results, timetable etc.
They will also start with the livestreaming from tomorrow at noon so 12 oclock live streaming!
Hope you will all follow us online! Finals of Europeans tomorrow! Stay tuned, they will also start of with some qualifications of the World Trophy in the afternoon tomorrow!
Keep you guys posted.
Cheers

Dutch Nationals 2010

Last weekend we had our Nationals of 2010!!! Located at Down Under Cableway.
It was a great succes, there were about 92 riders registered. Some good brands that were sponsoring the event including Jobe sports one of my sponsors that gave away great prizes for the riders who made it to the podium.
We had all divisions from mini girls, till Masters. Good to see that even the smallest kids shred it on the water and it doesnt matter how old you get you still can rock the water hard, thats what we saw in the masters division.
We even had Wakeskate categories. Which i competed too. I think we had our Pro womens of 7 riders and all of us also competed in Wakeskate. Hilarious to see us all doing things on a wakeskate. After a great party on saturday night we had finals on sunday!

Delay of blog
Hi all,
Yeah so i haven't had a laptop for a while because mine broke. Since a day i have a new laptop and so i can keep u all posted with my blogs.
There were some cool things going on in the last 3 weeks. Ofcourse i have to talk about the 2nd stop of the WWA the Protest Cable Call which was held in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands on the 14th and 15th of August.
It was a great event, very well organised!
Lots of good riders from all over the world came to join us here in Holland! The level of riding was insane! There was a lot of prize money for this event so only the best of the best took the money home! So it was the unbelievable Tom Fooshee who took 1st place in Pro Mens division and won $7000, with a pete rose 540 off the kicker he showed he was best in his final! Followed by Nick Davies on 2nd place and Felix Georgii on 3rd.
Then out of 16 Pro womens competing there were only 4 in the final. After my 100 point in quali's and semi's that saturday before i kinda messed it up by doing a pretty safe run in finals and got my ass kicked by Sophia Reimers who definately deserved to be on 1st spot with her blind judge and a switch mobe! So after finals it was Sophia first, me on 2nd and Denise on 3rd.
After the Cable Call i had a two days photo and video shoot with all the Jobe Teamriders. CK, Chloe, Declan, Michael, Sjors, Richy and Will. The weather was shitty but i'm sure we took some good shots for the new catalogue of 2011. The next years collection will be sick and very colourfull. some great products. Not to forget about the new design of the J star Max board and the Max vest!! Some of you might have seen it at the Cable Call.
Next event was the T mobile Playgrounds which was not for womens so i can't really tell you guys anything about that event. But what i can tell you is that there was a small competition at the same weekend here in holland at burnside cable park in Emst!
Its called de Bok; which is basically a competition just for fun. Its really just a day to be crazy and ride because we all have the same love for wakeboarding. The theme of the day was heaven and hell so we all had to dress up. I dont really like to dress up but there were plenty of people who did like that.
Anyway, so i came along that day together with my buddy Tom van de Kerkhof and we came a little late. Actually the competition already started but we asked 'can we still compete?' Yeah sure why not. So there we went. Uhu both in finals and i had the biggest score after two runs and had to start at last in finals. I landed a huge S to blind followed by a switch mobius and a clean whirly 540 of the kicker!!! That was basically the best run so far i had in a comp. Even tho this was not an official competion i was still stoked to land this. After finals i hurt my shoulder again. I have this small injury its irritating me since cable call but i manage to ride with it, and lucky i have a fysiotherapist now so its gonna be fine. At the end of the day i finished first in womens category! And Dirk Gideonse another buddy of mine won the Mens division! A great day and loads of fun people to hang out with! Definately going next year, again!
The next competition will be this weekend. Which will be the Official Dutch National Championships! Its gonna be the biggest organised nationals we ever had in Cable Wakeboarding. It will be held in Nieuwegein at Down Under, same cable park were the Cable call was. There are already 96 riders registered so i guess its gonna be a great succes this weekend.
Hopefully we will see some new tricks of our dutch riders. Will let you know more about it after this weekend!
Some more competitions coming up in the next few weeks: dutch nationals, official European championships in Izmit, Turkey. World Trophy also held in Izmit. Ofcourse the Wake Park Worldchampionships in Antalya, Turkey at beautiful Hip-notics. And last WWA Stop at CWC, Philippines. So keep you guys posted! :)
Update soon!
Thanks

Protest photoshoot @ TNG Cable Park, France!
Saturday the 31st i got on the plane to Toulouse, France. Untill the 8th of August we had a full week of, practise, photoshooting and videoshooting! Ofcourse we had our cable team riders; Sjors van de Kerkhof, our newest teammember Chloe Goudie and myself! For the boat shoot we had the one and only Michael Timmers, Elke Venken and Ricky lukassen.
We rode everyday and learned some new tricks; Chloe landed her first scarecrows of the kicker, Elke landed her first whirly's and i landed a whirly 5 of the kicker.
Not only did we ride all day but also did some lifestyle shoots and some short interviews.
For the fun stuff, we had barbeques everyday with the whole team and even some dutchies came over to the cable and chilled with us. It was a fun week and another exprience in life. Special thanks so Barbera our teammanager for taking good care of us during this whole week. :)
Next trip will not go that far. This weekend will be the Protest Cable Call at Down Under Nieuwegein. Dont be afraid to pop by, its gonna be the sickest wakeboarding event holland has ever seen. More update soon! Thanks

World Championships 2010 Neubrandenburg, Germany
The official Worldchampionships 2010 were held in Neubrandenburg, Germany from the 14th till the 18th of July. There were over 15 nations from all over the world and over 150 riders competing. After the official opening ceremony it was time to start the competition. It was clear that all the riders have learned so many more tricks since the last worldchampionships in 2008 in Anapa, Russia.
After a good practise it was clear that i had my two pretty difficult runs safe. As qualifications started with 12 Open Ladies seperated in two heats, it was time for us to shine. I had to start last and began my run as i fell on my roll to blind. Only three in each heat were gonna advance straight trough the finals. After my crash in the first run i did a safe run the second time. I got placed 2nd place behind Kirsteen Mitchell (UK). And put me straight trough the finals on sunday the 18th.
Finals on sunday were very very intense. Not only did i have to defend my titel, there was so much pressure on me because all the Women in our division have improved themselves so much since 2 years that it was all or nothing. And so i did. I thought why do a safe run and get 2nd or 3rd place. Thats not what i wanted. It was clear that everybody was going for it and wanted to get that spot on the podium. I tried both runs i practised but couldnt show everything i have. I fell twice first with a roll to blind and second run when i thought i was going the right way with my s to blind i fell on a blind judge. Very unlucky and dissapointed i ended on 7th place. It was Kirsteen Mitchell (UK)who took the titel followed by Lauren Ormsby (AUS) on 2nd place and Angelika Schriber (AUS) on 3rd.

Max wins WPWS #1 @ Texas Ski Ranch
After a long travel and arrived at the Texas Ski Ranch this last wednesday for the first Stop of the Wake Park World Series 2010. At first I had some problems with the bag but eventually I recieved my boardbag again and was getting ready for the competition.
Practise started on friday. Qualifications started on saturday, unlucky we only had 5 riders competing in the Pro Womens division but I'm telling you 5 of the best. It was Me, Nicola Butler ENG, Angelika Schriber AUS, Alizee Brion FRA and Tor Young UK. We all got trough to Semi's. Then we had our semi's on sunday. Which placed Angelika 1st, Tor 2nd me 3rd and Nicola 4th. Things changed a lot cause i was 1st in quali's so this gave me some pressure for the finals. It was us four in finals. After finals and doing my run with some solid airtricks such as blind judge, roll to blind, s to blind and my wildcard trick; sw backmobe. I took first place. Nicola took second with a nice stalefish glide blind judge and her wildcard trick; a vulcan. Angie took 3rd with a huge ts backroll and a ts fs 540, also a solid blindjudge.
It was a great competition with a lot of good riders from all over the world. I'm happy i descided to go to the TSR. And i hope to be there some day soon again. This was a great event to start the season with. Get ready for the next stop cause that one will be at Down Under Cable Park in Holland. The Protest Cable Call!!
